In Light of Lenses

Ladd Observatory, Providence, Spring 2023

Coming from various disciplines (Glass, Architecture and Photography), In Light of Lenses is an exhibition / site intervention at the Ladd Observatory, bringing together the work of artists Daiqing Zhang, Alexander Wenstrup and Kai Wasikowski.

Ladd Observatory carries a rich history in the study of the universe and time. With overlapping interests in optics, the cosmos, and apparatuses of visuality, the artists respond to the enduring and historical mechanisms, technologies and imagery that characterize the site. By carefully interspersing and blending their own artifacts and images, the artists compose an interplay between scale, sight, site, wonder, visual epistemologies and the unique character of the Ladd Observatory today.
